Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has hired a company to help determine the boundaries of the city for the next 25 years, a news source reported on April 4. The company has been hired on the directives of RDA Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.

As per the details, RDA Chief Planner Jamshed Aftab mentioned that the company will share its suggestions on setting up different zones such as green-zone, agro-farm zone, industrial zone, and residential zone.
The news report states that the Rawalpindi Master Plan prepared by the RDA includes respective planning for four tehsils, Kallar Syedan, Kahuta, Gujar Khan, and Taxila areas, housing schemes, central business area, industrial area, and other places. The Chief Planner further disclosed that housing societies and industrial areas could not be constructed outside the development zone and the areas outside this zone will be reserved for agriculture.

It was mentioned that the hired company will help spread awareness about the delimitation of new urban limits, Site Development Zone, and Peri-Urban Structure Plan. The Peri-Urban Structure Plan has also been uploaded on the RDA’s website: www.rda.gop.pk. He requested the general public to check the plan and if they have any suggestions or objections, they can submit it to Director Town Planner Muhammad Tahir Meo and Assistant Commissioners within the next 10 days.
