According to a CDA official, the authority has received 21 applications within the stipulated timeframe and is currently evaluating the profiles of these firms. The next step involves shortlisting the companies, which will then receive tender documents to submit their bids.
This new 5-kilometre stretch, linking D-12 to E-11, will connect Margalla Avenue, which stretches from G.T. Road and ends at D-12. Currently under construction, this segment is expected to be completed within the next two months, according to CDA officials.
The proposed 3.4-kilometer road, divided between Rawalpindi (1.8km) and Islamabad (1.6km), is aimed at providing an alternative route for commuters between G.T. Road (N-5) and Islamabad. The road, consisting of six lanes, is strategically crucial, according to the CDA’s working paper.
