Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has released a list of firms that have prequalified for the Sagian Road project, news sources reported. As per the notification released a total of seven firms have qualified for the PKR 3.4 billion development project aimed at alleviating the city’s traffic congestion problem.

Reportedly, LDA Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain Khan has issued the letter to the qualified firms that will be followed by the bidding process. The companies that have qualified for the initiative in the process include; Habib Construction Services, Khalid Roof Company, Saadullah Khan Brothers, KNK Private Limited, National Logistics Company (NLC), Sultan Mahmood & Co., and Zoriz Engineering Company.

It is important to note that the Sagian Road rehabilitation project is part of a multi-billion rupee road infrastructure development project for the provincial capital, launched by the Punjab government. As per Project Concept-1 (PC-1), a road will be built from Sagian Road to Phol Mandi Chowk to Faizpur Interchange. The route is one of the busiest in the city, with commuters and heavy traffic using it to enter and exit the city.
