Islamabad: Parliamentarians hailing from Hazara have decided to pass a bill pertaining to the creation of a separate Hazara province – a news source reported.
Two separate National Assembly (NA) and Senate committees will prepare a draft of the bill. This was decided during a meeting of the lawmakers belonging to the region.

Former NA deputy speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi presided over the meeting. Senator Javed Abbasi, Senator Talha Mahmood, and MNA Sajjad Awan were all present at the session.
Abbasi said that the country’s major political parties had included the demand for a Hazara province in their election manifesto. He added that the ruling party had also made promises to this effect.

He further stated that the two committees will draft a bill to create the province. This document will then be presented before parliament for debate.
In response, Sajjad Qamar said that a meeting to discuss the issue will be held next week. He informed that all parliamentarians belonging to the region will attend the meeting.
