Multan: The Punjab chief secretary has constituted divisional committees to expedite the approvals for housing schemes, building plans and commercial land and to provide a forum of complaint for the aggrieved, a news source reported. The provincial government recently took notice of the delays in approvals.

The committees will be headed by the commissioners of the division. Other members will include the director generals of relevant development authorities and Additional Deputy Commissioners – the latter have also been appointed the convenors of these committees. The Local Government’s Chief Officer and a representative of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) will also be members of the committees.

In Multan, a committee has been formed with Commissioner Multan Division Shan-ul-Haq as the chairperson. As a result, the Commissioner Office has also made the requisite orders for the submission of relevant lists of delayed maps for buildings and housing schemes.
