Lahore: The provincial police department has formed a four-member committee to address the grievances of affectees of land-grabbing, a news source reported. SP Sadar Lahore Ali Raza has been appointed its head.
Other members include SP Investigation Muhammad Rashid Hidayat and two members each from Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Revenue Department respectively. An open court will be held every week to hear the complaints of the affectees.
The committee would then refer the complaints to departments concerned for further processing. Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi will oversee the process.
Moreover, the police have also established a special cell at the office of DIG Operations Waqas Nazeer and issued contact numbers of the focal person ADIG Ahmad Saleem, who can be reached at 0300-8437298 and 042-99214888.
