Lahore: The Local Government and Community Development (LG&CD) department has set up a committee to prepare the draft of Punjab Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2022, according to a news story published in the national dailies on July 22.

Project Management Unit (PMU) Project Director Umme-e-Laila Naqvi is the convener of the committee, while its members comprise Director (Architecture) M Hayat and Senior Urban Planner Imran.
The committee will prepare draft of the rules for private housing schemes in accordance with the Punjab Local Government Act, 2022. Reportedly, the committee has been asked to submit the draft within seven days.

According to spokesperson of LG, the new rules will make it mandatory for the developers of private housing schemes to follow the finalized bylaws. This will further protect public investments and ensure that all such housing schemes ensure provision of utilities and basic facilities.
