Karachi: The federal government has formed a special committee to oversee the development of Bundal Island near Karachi – a news source reported. The executive has further announced its decision to consult with the Ministry of Law and Justice with regard to land dispute in Bundal and Buddu Islands.

The government officials were scheduled to hold a meeting with the attorney general and the law minister, but the meeting had remained delayed for the past two months. The officials of Port Qasim Authority recently requested the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to organise a meeting to this effect.

According to details, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had chaired a meeting in October to discuss the situation in the Bundal Island; located in Port Qasim’s jurisdiction. The attendees had also discussed matters pertaining to the construction of high-rise buildings in several cities across the country. He had also directed the officials concerned to make efforts for attracting foreign investments.
