Rawalpindi: Cantt Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Faheem Zafar told a news agency that a committee of traders’ representatives, Rescue 1122 and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has been formed to inspect safety status of high-rise buildings.
“The committee will be responsible to inspect multi-storied plazas and pass recommendations to the CEO for taking necessary actions against insecure buildings for not installing safety equipment, eg fire extinguishers,” he added.
The plan to establish a committee to inspect high-rise buildings’ safety was initiated after Rescue 1122 declared various high-rise buildings in Rawal Town and Cantt “insecure”.
