Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has constituted committees for processing rent and compensation cases of private houses used by the military in the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), a news source reported.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department on Thursday issued a notification to this effect. The document includes their terms of reference (ToRs).
Deputy commissioner concerned has been appointed as the committee’s head. Other members include an assistant commissioner, executive engineer of the Communication and Works (C&W) Department, and a representative of the Pakistan Army.
The deputy commissioner has been tasked with identifying number of houses which had been under the use of army personnel and the actual owners of these houses.

The revenue staff would confirm ownership of all such properties. Furthermore, the C&W Department would assess house rent on basis of standard formula before the agreement deed is finalised.
