The committee will hold its first meeting on Friday to discuss its recommendations, which will later be presented to the provincial government. Previously, several sources from Punjab Land Record Authority had conveyed that land records of urban areas would be computerised soon. Till date, the computerisation of provincial rural land records has been completed.
To improve the land record system in the province, Punjab Revenue Department took major steps in the past – of which the issuance of fard by various franchises of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is a notable example.
