Lahore: The Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar has formed an 8-member committee for anti-encroachment operations in Shah Alam Market on the request of businessmen, a news source reported. Senior minister Abdul Aleem Khan has been appointed the convener of the committee.
The other members of the committee include Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, revenue minister, a senior member of board of revenue, secretary local government, and secretary industries.
Shah Alam operation will be conducted according to the revenue rules and the CM has instructed the commissioner to present the entire record of the operation before the committee within a week.
The Government of Punjab has decided to restore Shah Alam Market according to its original map formed back in 1934. All built structures that were added afterwards will be demolished.
Walled City Authority has also submitted an application with Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to identify buildings and structures that are not part of the scheme approved back in 1934.
