Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has established a committee to investigate the encroachment of private housing societies on state land in Sector E-11, according to news published on Tuesday (April 12).

As per the details, the fact-finding committee will consist of two members; Deputy Director General Land and Estate Afnan Alam will head the committee and Director Land Sidra Anwar will be the secretary. The committee is expected to submit its findings within 14 days. According to CDA officials, the owners of the housing societies in E-11 bought the land from private owners, who were allocated the land by the authority for their property in E-12, F-11, and F-12.

Moreover, the officials disclosed that E-11 had a total of 746 acres, out of which 203 acres have not been acquired. It was also mentioned that 460 acres out of 543 acres were allotted to affectees of E-12, F-11, and F-12. Additionally, the landowners sold the 460 acres to the housing societies. Reportedly, the CDA official stated that unless this matter is resolved, the authority will have trouble getting possession of land in E-12 and F-12.
