The authority made the decision following a meeting with the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and developers of private housing schemes in Circuit House. The participants were briefed on the master plan by the private firm working on it. To meet the city’s growing population and urban migration, the FDA has developed a Faisalabad Master Plan 2035. Concerns were expressed by FCCI members and private housing scheme representatives over the conversion of “Brown Areas” into “Green Zones” in order to boost vertical construction. The participants were also concerned by the conversion of peri-urban planning without prior notification or taking stakeholders into confidence.
