Islamabad: The Ministry of Housing and Works briefed the Senate Standing Committee on the 413 projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) selected for the year 2023-24, a news source reported on February 15.
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works was held at the Parliament House, which was chaired by Senator Haji Hidayatullah Khan. The meeting was informed about the budgetary proposals for the existing year. Ministry Housing & Works Senior Joint Secretary apprised that there 413 projects selected for the year 2023-24, amounting to PKR 344,767.271 million. It includes 149 ongoing projects, 20 approved but unfunded projects, and 244 new projects.
Moreover, the committee was briefed on the unapproved/encroachment in government residences. It was mentioned that no construction could be carried out in the government residences without approval from the ministry. The news source disclosed that a committee was set up in the Estate Office, which has conducted a survey of residences and issued notices to the allottees involved in illegal construction.
