Gujrat: The District Development Committee has approved 11 development projects of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and the Highways Division in Gujrat, a news source reported. In a meeting presided over by the Gujrat Deputy Commissioner (DC), the Committee gave the approval of the projects, expected to be completed at a cost of PKR 177.5 million.

As part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP), the committee approved a sewerage scheme in Shadewal at a cost of PKR 27.5 million. The project would facilitate the transfer of sewerage water from the pond situated in the area to the Nullah Bhimber.
The committee also approved five projects worth PKR 94 million pertaining to the construction of Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) roads, streets, and drains in different areas of Gujrat. Additionally, it approved a number of projects collectively costing PKR 56 million for the Highways Division.

Moreover, the DC has directed the heads of the Highways Division and PHE Department to begin the tendering process for the approved projects immediately. He added that the authorities concerned should begin work on these projects on an immediate basis.
