Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak has reaffirmed that the Rawalpindi Ring Road project is a top priority, with efforts underway to complete it before the December deadline.
Presiding over a progress review meeting on Monday, the commissioner emphasized that any delay in construction work is unacceptable now that the required funds have been released. The meeting was attended by Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority Kanzi Murtaza, Deputy Project Director Ashfaq Sulehri, and FWO officials.

Strict Monitoring to Ensure Timely Completion
To maintain momentum, daily progress updates will be provided to the commissioner, who will inspect the site every three days. Additionally, a full route inspection will be conducted weekly to ensure smooth execution of the project.
Significant Progress Reported
During the briefing, officials shared that the financial progress of the project stands at 50%. With the recent release of funds, both physical and financial progress is expected to accelerate.
- 34 km of sub-grade work has been completed, with 4.3 km still in progress.
- 18 km of sub-base work has been finalized, while 16 km remains under construction.
- The revised PC-1 has been approved by the CDWP and will now be presented in the ECNEC meeting for final clearance.
