Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Captain (retired) Muhammad Mahmood on Wednesday issued directions for the officials concerned of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to survey the land required for the Leh Expressway project, according to news sources.

Moreover, the officials concerned tasked with devising separate estimates for the government land to be used for the project. He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting at the Commissioner Office.

It was highlighted that the project will ease traffic congestion in the city, minimise environmental pollution and prevent urban flooding. The commissioner stated that the Leh Expressway project would include service roads and a flood protection channel. He further said that the project will support the economy as new business opportunity would be created in line with all requirements of urban life.
