Multan: Commissioner Iftikhar Sahu has directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to commence with the cleanliness and beautification work on the city’s entrance and exit points, according to a news source. He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting held to review the PHA’s performance.

He instructed the department concerned to launch a crackdown against illegal billboards, as well as introduce measures in a bid to boost the authority’s revenue. Moreover, he ordered the officials to recover 100% of their individual recovery targets within one month’s timeframe. To facilitate this measure, he called for formation of several teams.
Commissioner Sahu ordered for measures to be taken to beautify crossroads, rehabilitation of the parks, plantation of sapling on roads/ sideways, and cleaning of green belts.

In response, Director General Zahid Ikram briefed him that the PHA was currently working on the development of 57 parks, and 39.6-kilometre long green belts.
Earlier, the commissioner also visited the Land Record Centre and directed for separate counters and queue-lanes to be set up to facilitate women.
