The commissioner made these remarks while presiding over a meeting at the LDA’s Johar Town headquarters. He directed that no compromises should be made in terms of building quality for all ongoing developments. He instructed the relevant departments to oversee the execution of the Master Plan for Lahore and to prevent unlawful building in the city.
Additionally, Commissioner Jan highlighted that unauthorized building projects are one of the primary reasons for the city’s chaotic and irregular traffic, which is harming the city’s ecology. He later visited the LDA facilitation centre and instructed staff to provide adequate and timely help to residents in land disputes.

It is worth noting that the LDA is now developing the Lahore Master Plan 2050, which will act as a guiding concept for the future development of the provincial capital. The said plan comprises environmentally and climate-friendly infrastructures, such as healthy spaces and public transportation systems. So far, the LDA has held several public meetings to hear people’s and urban planners’ concerns. The master plan is expected to be completed soon.
