Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has directed the Karachi Commissioner to retrieve the land reserved for the Kidney Hill Park development — a news source reported on Monday (August 10). The commissioner has also been instructed to submit a report following task completion.

In addition to retrieving the empty land, the SC further instructed the authorities to demolish private buildings, including the school and homes that have been illegally constructed in the area. The court also said that the plot allottees could contact the departments concerned to recover their funds.
According to the details available, a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmad heard the case regarding the retrieval of Kidney Hill Park land. During the hearing, the commissioner informed the court that notices had been issued to the people illegally residing in the area.

The court was also informed that the Sindh High Court had provided a stay to the school located on the ground since 1996.
