Rawalpindi: The divisional administration has announced its plans to address the city’s water shortage and traffic concerns in addition to curbing rising pollution levels by initiating four mega projects within the next few months – a news source reported.
Elaborating the plan for the Fiscal Year 2019-20, Commissioner Captain (retired) Mohammad Mehmood said that four mega projects – Ring Road, Leh Expressway, Daducha Dam and Green Rawalpindi – would be launched during the year.

He further said that the Daducha Dam project would provide clean drinking water to more than one million people in the city. He said that the PC-I for the dam was being prepared and the Small Dams Organisation had been asked with completing the project by the end of March.

The commissioner stated that the administration had decided to plant more than 100,000 trees in the city. He said that a comprehensive plan had been developed to plant saplings around major roads and streets; including Murree Road, Airport Road and all the areas in and around Raja Bazaar.
