Lahore: The city administration has been ordered to identify and lodge cases against the owners of illegal housing schemes in various land subdivisions and Mouzas of Lahore Division, news sources reported on December 20. Commissioner Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Usman Younis has constituted inspection teams of respective revenue personnel to locate the owners of 60 unlawful housing developments.

According to sources, the administration has identified 60 housing projects following a detailed evaluation of the mushroom growth of unlawful housing schemes in various regions and sub-divisions of the city. The majority of the listed housing plans have been identified on Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, Kamahan Road, Bedian Road, and Burki Road.

In a letter to the commissioner, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has identified 34 unlawful housing plans on Ferozepur Road, 11 on Burki Road, 11 on Bedian Road, 2 on Kamahan Road, and 2 on Canal Road. In a grand operation against these illegal housing schemes, the government will demolish the illegal structures constructed on the premises including the utility structures.
