Lahore: The duties to manage commercialisation of property on 118 model roads have been assigned to Metropolitan Corporation, reported a news source. The commercialisation control was transferred to the Lahore Development Authority five years ago through an executive order.
Metropolitan Department has nullified the previous order. To implement the new order, Punjab Metropolitan Secretary Saif Anjum has called a high-level meeting. The officers concerned have agreed to revert the order and give the commercialisation authority to Metropolitan Corporation.
With the change in role, the corporation expects to earn billions of rupees in terms of revenue. Implementation of the new rule will help Metropolitan Corporation manage commercialisation on 118 roads including the following:
