Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Chaklala Board (RCB) has started a crackdown against those involved in using residential property for commercial purposes, reported a news source. During this operation, the RCB sealed many properties but gave a deadline of March 31 to private educational institutes to shift their campuses. It is expected that the deadline will be extended, but the decision is still to be taken by the Board.
During this operation carried out on Thursday, the RCB sealed beauty parlours, gymnasiums, private offices, and other outlets in the residential areas that fall in the jurisdiction of Chaklala and Rawalpindi Cantonment.
The crackdown against commercial use of residential property was carried out under the instructions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Following the apex court’s orders, the RCD has also issued notices.
According to the RCB officials, business operations being carried out from residential property have created serious security and traffic issues in these areas, where the residents have also been disturbed due to increasing commercial activities.
