Faisalabad: District Planning and Design Committee (DPDC) has approved the commercial use of various sites in the district, reported a news source. Wedding halls, commercial plazas, and educational institutes will be constructed on the marked sites.
The decision was taken during a DPDC meeting held this week. Faisalabad Divisional Commissioner (DC) Asif Iqbal Chaudhary presided over the session. Important officials from Faisalabad Development Authority, City Traffic Police, and the City District Government also attended the meeting. Additionally, Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar, Additional Commissioner Rai Wajid Ali, and Municipal Corporation Chief Officer Sardar Naseer Ahmed were present at the event.
DC Chaudhary was briefed on the cases awaiting approval for commercial projects. The meeting discussed 22 pending such cases.
The commercial use of land was approved for the following:
- Construction of 10 wedding halls on Canal Road, Masjid Ismail Road, Narwala Road, Samundari Road, and Jhang Road
- Construction of an industry in Chak 201
- Construction of a college in Chak 201
While granting approval for these commercial developments, DC Chaudhary also issued instructions.
He ordered the officials concerned to ensure ample parking space arrangements for the wedding halls. He also rejected a few applications that didn’t meet the standard criteria for allowing commercial use of residential land.
