This decision was taken in a meeting of PLRA chaired by the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar. These measures are geared towards making the process of obtaining property documents easier.
Speaking on the matter, the CM said that the commercial banks will also be able to verify the property documents and issue them to people.
He further said that farmers will be facilitated to obtain loans from commercial banks, so they won’t have to visit banks and land record centres again and again for the purpose. The provision of loans to farmers will be ensured within three days. He added that an effective monitoring mechanism should be devised under the new system as well.
