Rawalpindi: Residents of Cantonment area have expressed concern over an increase in commercial activities – a news source reported.
Several individuals have established schools, salons, offices, and stores in the area. Such commercial activities have resulted in traffic congestion. Long-hours traffic jam have become a nuisance for the public.

Areas such as Afshan Colony, Mughal Abad, and People’s Colony have become commercial centres. The residents say that they have lodged complaints with the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB).
However, the authorities concerned have yet to take any action. Moreover, several non-residents have initiated business activities in rented buildings. The situation has also resulted in security issues in the said areas.

In addition to traffic congestion, the ongoing commercial activities have also impacted the environment. No serious cleanliness campaign is being carried out at the moment.
According to several reports, RCB often leaves its action against illegal businesses unfinished.
