Mr Qamar said that currently, Afghanistan is the major export partner of Pakistan, with an annual business of USD 100 million and it needs further enhancement given the current export ban on the products. However, by designating an export-oriented industry status and giving it access to European and African markets, the coating sector’s share in export will increase in a short time. Moreover, he said that there are over 200 groups that are involved in various raw materials manufacturing that includes paint, coating resins, adhesives, inks, powder coating, surface finishing, construction chemicals, industrial and protective coatings, raw material and machinery manufacturers and allied industries.
