Awaran: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on the second day of his visit to Balochistan, inaugurated uplift schemes in Awaran, according to a news report. He inaugurated work on Turbat-Blaeda Road and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a cadet college in Awaran at Jhao.
On the occasion, COAS was given a detailed briefing by General Officer Commanding Major General Zaki Manj. He was briefed about the security measures taken to support the government’s socio-economic and infrastructural development projects.
Initially, 800 cadets will join Cadet College Awaran, but plans have been made to enhance its capacity. It will also have hostel facilities for 300 cadets and faculty, and will be constructed by Pakistan Army engineers. The project is to be completed in two years.
