The Shahrah-e-Bhutto, a 9.1-kilometre stretch from Shaheed-e-Millat Expressway at Qayumabad to Shah Faisal Interchange, is a key part of a 38.75-kilometre expressway, with the full completion expected by 2025. This high-speed, access-controlled corridor is designed to ease commuting and reduce travel time from over an hour to just 25 minutes. The project will also improve trade logistics and provide a safer route for heavy traffic, particularly to and from Karachi Port Trust.
The Rs. 54.7 billion project is a testament to the successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework, with the Sindh Government contributing Rs. 31.3 billion. CM Murad Shah emphasized that the Shahrah-e-Bhutto project is more than just a road; it is a lifeline for Karachi’s future, offering hope and progress. Importantly, no residents were displaced during construction, upholding the government’s commitment to citizen welfare.
