Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Thursday (October 28) ordered to take result-oriented steps for the execution of low-cost Surizai Housing Scheme, according to news sources.

During the meeting, the issues hindering the progress of the project were discussed and decisions were taken to resolve these problems. The attendees were briefed that Surizai projectspread across 8,500 kanals of land and it is being developed under Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).

It was also disclosed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed between Provincial Housing Authority and Pakistan Housing Authority. Under this initiative, 16,000 grey structure units will be constructed that will be offered to government employees and other people. Moreover, it was reported that several housing schemes have been launched in the province under NPHP while work on others is underway. CM Khan stated that the government is working to provide housing facilities and employment opportunities to locals in the region through promoting housing and construction sectors.
