Lahore: The Punjab Chief Minister (CM) has put Lahore Development Authority (LDA) budget for the year 2018-19 on hold after raising objections over some of the projects, a news source reported. The CM has said that he will scrutinise the future and present projects himself individually and pass them if they meet the legal requirements.
The CM also directed LDA Vice Chairman Sheikh Muhammad Imran to scrutinise LDA’s budget proposal. He was chairing a meeting of the LDA Governing Body at his office when he gave the directions.
PKR 1.2 billion has been reserved for the LDA City in the budget and that came under discussion in the meeting. The objection was also raised by finance secretary that LDA was bound to send the budget proposals to the Finance Department for approval a week before the budget meeting. However, it had been sent just three days previously.
