Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi on Friday (September 23) approved the construction of the ‘Punjab House’ in Gwadar, news sources reported.

The new house will be built for the officials and administrative staff visiting the port city. As per the details, in a meeting to review the ongoing development projects of the province, CM Elahi asked the provincial administration to start the bidding process for the construction of the official residence. He said that the project will be a step towards improving inter-provincial relations. However, no specific date for the commencement of the formal procedure was outlined.

It is important to mention that provincial houses are built in each territory by the respective provinces to accommodate their visiting staff and delegations. The residences will be governed by the laws and regulations of their respective provinces. In another development, Punjab has recently converted one of its official residences located in Murree into Kohsar University (KU).
