Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has directed the departments concerned to expedite the establishment of the Kalam Development Authority and complete the rehabilitation of broken roads before the onset of summer to assist tourists, a news source reported. He gave these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting at the CM house on Thursday (March 5).

The CM also received a briefing regarding the measures being undertaken by the provincial govt to promote tourism. He was informed that the roads rehabilitation work was underway in Thandiani, Mankial and Shishi Koh.
Khan was also intimated on the funds allocated under the government’s Annual Development Programme for the renovation of roads in various other areas of the province; along with their developmental updates.

In response, the CM directed the meeting’s attendees to include projects for the promotion of tourism in the newly merged tribal areas under the annual development programme framework. He also instructed the regional officers to finalise the arrangements for the upcoming Derajat and Kalam Festivals.
