Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah on March 2 ordered the eviction of illegal occupants from 1,000 apartments constructed by the government on the Northern bypass.
According to a news source, this order was issued during a meeting at the CM House when the CM’s labour secretary, Rasheed Solangi, told attendees that the flats in question were occupied by 2010 flood affectees who were refusing to vacate them.
In response, the CM directed the officials concerned to seek help from Rangers and the police and get the apartments vacated within two months. These units are meant for labourers and their occupation by illegal residents is intolerable, he added.
