Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday (January 04) encouraged Omani investors to participate in different development and infrastructure projects in the province, according to news reports. He stated that there is potential for Omani investors in the construction, fishing, water, and food processing industries.

According to reports, Murad met with a 15-member delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) led by Redha Juma Mohammad Ali Al-Saleh. The delegates aimed to examine the business potential in Sindh. CM Murad also stated that the government is making every effort to facilitate ease of doing business in Karachi to streamline investment processes for enterprises. In this regard, the government has set up a specific investment department to assist investors and address their problems.

Meanwhile, President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi met with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and both officials reviewed current development and infrastructure initiatives in the port city. Both parties discussed the growth of solid waste management, water and sewage, as well as transportation challenges. During the discussion, it was observed that Karachi is critical for Pakistan’s income generation and that there should be development towards facilitating people.
