Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Safe City Project (GSCP) and Police Service Centre (PSC) were inaugurated by Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi on Monday, according to a news source on February 6.

As disclosed in the details, the event took place during his visit to the Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control, and Communication Centre, where he observed the CCTV camera system designed for security monitoring.
CM Naqvi congratulated the citizens of Gujranwala on the inauguration of the Safe City Project, emphasising its potential to enhance security. Later, he visited the newly opened PSE in Gujranwala, inspecting various counters and reviewing service delivery processes.
During a briefing by Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar, CM Naqvi was informed about the facilities provided at the PSC. He highlighted the broader benefits of the Gujranwala Safe City Project (GSCP), expressing hope that it would reduce crimes, improve traffic management, and address civic issues.

CM Naqvi mentioned a reported 30% reduction in the overall crime rate across Punjab and attributed this decline to collaborative efforts within the police force, emphasising the role of the Safe City Project in crime prevention and public assistance.
