Lahore: The Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi visited the Gujranwala-Lahore link road project to conduct an inspection, according to news published in the leading newspaper on September 27.

The CM traversed a 15.2km stretch from Benazir Chowk to Wahandu in a standard vehicle, closely examining the progress in earthwork, stone-laying, and the construction of bridges along the route. According to the details, around 90% of the earthwork for this 15.2km link road has already been completed.
This motorway is poised to establish a direct link between Lahore and Sialkot, further extending to Gujranwala through a two-lane road from the Wahandu Interchange to Benazir Chowk. Mohsin Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the project’s pace and commended the project director and the team for their efforts.

He also announced plans for the development of a commercial area along this crucial link road. The chief minister emphasized the importance of adhering to the established timeline. Upon completion, the journey from Gujranwala to Lahore is expected to be reduced to just 45 minutes.
