Swat: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Saturday (October 09) announced a PKR 1 billion development budget for Tehsil Khwazakhela in Swat, news sources reported. The allocated budget will be used to build the tehsil complex, upgrade the hospital, and implement a larger water supply network.

During his two-day visit to the valley, CM Mehmood addressed the crowd and announced some development projects in the province, including the construction of dams and industrial zones. He stated that the provincial government’s first goal is the construction of critical projects like the Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal (CRBC), Gomal Zam Dam, and Tank Zam Dam, which would irrigate millions of acres of land in the southern regions and boost agricultural production.

He also stated that the Fatehpur Irrigation Scheme and the Guli Bagh water channel have already been approved and that the projects will be launched by the end of this year. Furthermore, he stated that work on the Khwazakhela and Bahrain bypass routes is now ongoing, which would enhance tourism and assist residents to make a living. On this occasion, CM Mehmood also inaugurated the Fatehpur-Miandam road and the Shalpin road.
