Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially launched several key infrastructure projects in Lahore on Wednesday, including the Controlled Access Corridor Road Package-II, as reported by a news source on September 4.

According to the details, other initiatives include the Ravi Bridge Expansion and the remodelling of Babu Sabu Interchange. During the inauguration, CM Maryam directed the expansion of the service lane along the Controlled Access Corridor to improve local convenience. She also participated in a tree-planting ceremony and inspected the completed projects.
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) officials, including DG Tahir Farooq and Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, provided briefings on the project updates. Key segments of the Controlled Access Corridor, such as the Niazi Interchange to Saggian and Saggian to Babu Sabu Interchange, were highlighted. Service lanes, vehicular and pedestrian subways have been established to enhance connectivity.
At Babu Sabu Chowk, a 16-kanal and 6-marla area previously occupied by encroachments has been transformed into a green belt and park, representing an investment of over PKR 1.5 billion.
The Ravi Bridge has been expanded to a 540-metre-long four-lane structure, benefiting communities such as Shahdara, Kot Abdul Malik, Sheikhupura, and surrounding areas.

The inauguration event was attended by senior officials, including Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, MPA Sania Ashiq, and Vice Chairman LDA Mian Marghub Ahmed, underscoring the government’s commitment to regional infrastructure development and improved connectivity.
