Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has recently announced an affordable housing scheme called “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” aimed at building 100,000 houses across the province, according to a news source on March 5.

As disclosed in the details, CM Maryam instructed officials to develop model houses within six weeks and construct over 3,000 houses for low-income families in each district. The initiative prioritises low down payments and monthly instalments to enhance accessibility.

CM Maryam stressed quality and sustainability in construction and emphasised strategic placement near urban areas for easy transportation. The meeting discussed comprehensive plans for implementing the scheme, attended by officials and former Senator Parvez Rasheed.
