Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has authorised an allocation of PKR 1,370 billion for various development initiatives in Lahore, according to a news source on August 3.

As per the details, these funds will be used to upgrade streets, alleys, and areas that are located in suburban regions of the city. The development plan includes improvements to drainage systems, road paving, and street lighting. Additionally, the restoration of parks and cemeteries is part of the project.

CM Maryam has set a deadline of 10 months for the completion of these development efforts. A total of PKR 78 billion has been earmarked for 867 different schemes. Of this, PKR 590 million is designated for suburban and underserved areas. The Lahore Revamping Programme comprises three packages: the first includes six zone development schemes, the second covers three schemes, and the third focuses on suburban areas.
