Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) governing body on Wednesday (December 01) approved the various development and infrastructure projects in the city including deliberation over the Lahore Master Plan 2050, news sources reported. The 8th governing body meeting was presided over by the Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar.

According to the details, the meeting looked into numerous municipal development initiatives and gave final permission to the following:
- Hand over of the utility site land of Abdalian Society (Phase-1) to Tourism Department
- Conversion of agricultural land in Moza Pandu in Model Town tehsil to industrial land
- Conversion of plot no. 1 and plot no. 88, reserved for fruit and vegetable markets at Allama Iqbal Town, to commercial plots.
- Extension of Jubilee Town and LDA Avenue-1’s defaulters’ deadline to submit outstanding dues within 60 days
- Constitution of a committee to determine the allotment procedure of alternate plots to affectees of LDA Avenue-1
- Amendment of the LDA selection board for hiring a legal advisor for LDA, the new board will also include senior officials of the LDA and Housing and Law Departments.
- The issue of TEPA fee remission is to be linked with the Home Department for issuance of NOCs to educational institutions, non-profit, charitable and religious institutions

LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar informed the meeting of several development initiatives. In another development, LDA Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi stated that the authority has hired both foreign and local specialists to help strengthen the LDA Master Plan 2050. Speaking at the Master Plan 2050 conference at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), he stated that the LDA is dedicated to making improvements in city planning to make it a sustainable city for future generations.
