Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has formally inaugurated the construction work on the Abbottabad-Thandiani Road – a mega project under the Integrated Tourism Development Project, according to news published on December 2.

CM Khan presided over a review meeting of the development projects and stated that every effort was being made to ensure that the money of taxpayers was used wisely. As per the details, the construction work on the 24.3-kilometre-long Abbottabad-Thandiani Road has commenced, at a total cost of PKR 3 billion.
During the meeting, the minister was briefed that the construction equipment has been transferred to the 22-kilometre Mankyal-Bada Sarai-Jabai Road site, which is expected to be completed at a total cost of PKR 5.7 billion. Speaking at the event, the CM mentioned that both projects are vital for facilitating visitors and for the promotion of tourism in the region.

It is pertinent to note that these projects are part of the Kite Project featuring four Integrated Tourism Zones in the province funded by the World Bank (WB) including Thandiani (Abbottabad), Madakalasht (Chitral), Ghanol (Mansehra), and Mankyal (Swat).
