Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan has directed to convert around 29,522 agricultural tube wells currently running on electricity to solar power, a news source reported. He gave the orders while presiding over a meeting on Thursday. Several parliamentary and administrative secretaries also participated in the session.

The CM then directed the energy department to gather details on the functional and non-functional tube wells. He added that the department must ensure the successful conversion of the tube wells to solar power. The meeting decided that a Geo testing mechanism will be adopted for verification of the agricultural tube wells.
CM Kamal also ordered the parliamentary and departmental secretaries to finalise the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the upcoming fiscal year. He said that officials converted must do so with a professional approach in order to share the departmental plans before the financial budget is out.
