Peshawar: Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has performed the groundbreaking of three mega development projects in Peshawar under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP), which is expected to be completed at the cost of PKR 4 billion, according to news published on December 15.

As per the details, the three mega development projects that were inaugurated included the extension and improvement of Bagh-e-Naran Park, the rehabilitation and improvement of the water supply system, and the establishment of Besai Park at Hayatabad. It was mentioned that the inaugural ceremony was held at the Bagh-e-Naran, Peshawar.
The CM laid the foundation stone for the improvement and rehabilitation of the water supply system in Peshawar, which will be completed at the estimated cost of PKR 2.8 billion. Under this project, multiple construction and rehabilitation activities were carried out including the replacement of a 155-kilometre-long distribution network, construction of new water reservoirs, rehabilitation of existing overhead water reservoirs, and installation of new household connections and water meters. Additionally, the project includes solarisation of the existing tube wells and rehabilitation and reconstruction of tube wells linked to the overhead reservoirs.

Another mega development project was the extension of Bagh-e-Naran, which will cost PKR 535 million. The said project includes the provision of several facilities including cycling & jogging tracks, an open-air gym, a family area, a playground, a skating zone for children, and recreational facilities.
