The PKR 4.90 billion project is expected to address the growing problem of the city’s most populated area. Once completed the project will be able to handle 130,000 vehicles daily that will reduce the traffic burden and commute time. The areas that are expected to be benefitted from the project include Circular Road, Masti Gate, Badami Bagh, Railway Station and all adjoining areas of the city. Moreover, the one-kilometre long flyover will pass through Naulakha Police Station to the Sheranwala Gate, Yaki Gate, Delhi Gate and will end at Australia Chowk Railway Road.
By design, the flyover has a 400-meter elevation at its highest point. According to the proposed design and budget breakdown, LDA has spent PKR 2 billion on the acquisition of 22 kanal land with an expected savings of PKR270 million through transparent bidding and tendering process.
