Lahore: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar recently formed a committee to oversee the development of the Model Road Project in Lahore, a news source reported. As per the publication, the committee has been established in order to guide the city administration in their efforts to clear-out encroachments from seven major roads in the city.

The Model Road Project will begin with Jail Road, Mall Road, Ferozpur Road, Canal Road, Multan Road, Allama Iqbal Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg, and is meant to help with the smooth flow of traffic on these major thoroughfares. In addition, it will also include the traffic signals, U-turns, patchwork and repaint required on these roads.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Ali Murtaza has been appointed as the head of the 13-member committee, which will work with traffic management to present their suggestions to the Chief Minister soon. CM Buzdar will then decide upon the best course of action, and issue directives based on these suggestions.
