Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the Sindh police to worth the district administration and the forest department on the matter of illegally occupied land, a news source reported. The latter government departments have been working to retrieve forest lands and properties of Hindu community members.
The CM was presiding over a law and order meeting. He was informed that around 70,000 acres of the forested land in the province was encroached. Of this figure, the authorities have retrieved around 25,000 acres, according to Shah. Now the remaining land needs to repossessed.
The chief minister also took note of the matter of illegal occupation of lands owned by the Hindu community. He directed the district administrations concerned to retrieve these landholdings, and to hand them over to their legal owners.
A collapsed building development in Malir also came under discussion during the meeting. The said structure had been constructed without approval.
